The story of the differently named holy shrine is an interesting one:

During the period of 1515-18, Guru Nanak Dev was returning to Punjab through Srinagar and he thought of resting at Leh in between. According to a local legend,  a wicked demon lived in the area those days who used to terrorize people. They prayed to God to end their misery. The Guru heard the woes of people and decided to settle down for a while where the demon lived. Guru ji blessed the people with sermons and locals felt safe in his shadow. Brokpa – The last pure Aryan race and pregnancy tourism

Close to the bank of Indus river, in the high mountains of Ladakh, near the LOC (Line of Control) in Kashmir, there are some small Himalayan villages. These villages are inhabited by a tribe called Brokpa, who are said to be the last pure Aryan race. Don’t travel. Travel is a drug!

I started travelling to escape from all the fuss of this 9-5 metro life. Unknowing that this travel bug will make me homeless one day. My new year’s resolution of 12 places in 12 months made me a travel addict. And travel addiction is much similar to doing drugs. Like drugs, you get high with each ascending steps. Our travel bucket lists are always incomplete without foreign trips. The feeling of landing altogether into a different world is an experience to behold.  No matter how painful the “damage controls” come along as the free goodie of travel package later on.
