Sikkim – The Traveler’s paradise

1. Gangtok – The capital city of Sikkim has a lot to offer for every traveler. Lush green forests, panoramic beauty, serene rivers this place is a whole package. From people wanting to feel the adrenaline rush to people wanting mental peace, this is the most sought out destination.

2. Yuksom – The meeting place of Three Lamas, Yuksom has recently gained tourist attention. The oldest Monastery of Sikkim is located here. If you are looking for pristine beauty and untouched nature, this is the right place.

3. Tsomgo lake – Called as Changu Lake, this is one of the highest lakes in India at 12400 ft. above sea level. It is a paradise in all seasons. In summer the ice melts from the mountain to flow into a charming turquoise water lake. And in the winter, the place is frozen giving rise to activities like skiing.

4. Nathula Pass – The place is only open to Indians, and we can expect lesser crowds. One of the highest motorable passes in India, it connects Sikkim with Tibet. If you are an adventurist, this is the place.

Meghalaya – The Abode of Clouds

5. Cherrapunji – The wettest place on with the highest rainfall recorded, this place is absolutely beautiful. There are many popular waterfalls and hideous caves to visit. A great place to enjoy with not much luxury.

6. Shillong – It is the most popular place in Meghalaya and is also called Scotland of India. Forested hills, a very pleasant climate and far away from city life, this place means relaxation.

7. Double-Decker Living Root Bridge – It is a 3 km long bridge made up of the roots of an Indian rubber tree. This is also the oldest bridge, 200 years old but can accommodate 50 people at a time. The Umshiang river flows beneath this bridge and is a treat to our eyes. This experience has to be on your bucket list.

8. Dawki – This is the most Instagrammable places on Earth and it needs no further explanation. A tourist place between India and Bangladesh and is a must visit.

10. Shimoga – A gateway to the western ghats, Shimoga is a trekkers place. It has numerous rivers to cross and many hills to climb. The green paddy fields welcome you and the highest waterfall of Karnataka ‘Jog Falls’ mesmerize you. It is well connected from major cities and is a must visit.

11. Kodagu – Very popularly known as Coorg. It is also called as the Scotland of India. With dense forests and perfect chilling climate throughout the year this place is splendid. If you are a foodie then this place has a distinctive cuisine you can savor on.

Mizoram – The Land of Tribes

18. Serchhip – Vantawng falls here is the state’s highest waterfall. The place has a vast forest with wide range of endangered species. The traditional Mizo hand-loom items are manufactured in the industries here.

19. Lawngtlai – This place shares its boundaries with Bangladesh and is not very known for tourists. If you are looking for lesser sightseeing destinations and more connection with nature, this place is perfect to visit.

20. Mokokchung – It is the land of Ao tribe. Their Moatsu festival is very famous and happens in May every year. If you want to wake up in a house up the hill with brilliant views and indulge in the most cultural vibe, this is the place.
