Camping with your family can be a lot of fun, but it can be tricky and get frustrating if you have not packed the right camping gear. The trick is to pack things that are right for the season and the way you live, and sometimes it will require you to put some effort into finding the right things. So if you have only just started out on camping adventures with your family, this list of necessary items will help your pack more wisely.
It is the first item that comes to one’s mind when we think about going camping because where else will we spend the night and rest; you have to have a place to sleep. And when you are with your family, you will definitely need to bring a tent along. If you want that sleeping place to be comfortable, choose a tent that has the sleeping capacity of double the size of your family. A three-person tent can fit three people but what about your luggage and other equipment?! To have enough room to sleep, move around and pick a tent that can hold more people than you are in total.
- Sleeping Bags and Pillows
Where will you lie in your tent, on the hard floor? It can get cold at night, and you do not want to wake up in the morning with cramps in your back and neck. Bring with you sleeping bags for every person in your family. Choose bags that provide insulation and padding in the great outdoors. Even if your children are small, buy proper sleeping bags and do not forget to pack your pillows.
If you are going camping somewhere close to water, you will need a paddle board with you so you can go and have fun on the water. You do not have to be dependent on someone else renting you the necessary equipment, and you can play any sport like fishing, surfing, and yoga. Even your kids will have so much fun on a paddle board. To get the best paddle board, check this out.
- Camp Stove
You will be cooking and heating food for sure, and you do not want to be doing that on woods because that will be a disaster. Whether you can bring a full camp stove or a propane-fueled burner, you will need a fuel source to cook things at any time. On your own, you will be able to manage, but with kids you got should have the cooking arrangements covered.
- Paper Plates/Dishes
Something that will make your camping much easier is you bringing disposable cups, plates, and utensils. You do not want to worry about the safety of your china and plastic utensils. Use your disposable plates and cups and just throw them afterwards, so your luggage keeps light. Take disposable items instead of washables because there will not be time to worry about washing the dishes when you are out to have fun. Even if you are out for one meal a day only, it will make everything easier for you and you will be able to enjoy more.
- First Aid Kit
Never go on a trip without a first aid kit, and that is the first rule of camping or going on any road trip. You never know when you would need that smallest bandage or some medicine. It is best to be prepared and better to be safe than sorry later on. Also, during camping there are going to be all kinds of insects and mosquitoes are always roaming around outdoors. You first aid kit should include everything from painkillers to bug bites ointment to something for a more serious accident. With a first aid kit, you will be able to take care of anything quickly since you will be camping away from civilization. If you are traveling with small kids, all the more reason to bring the kit because kids are more prone to small accidents or in case someone gets an allergic reaction. Pack as many band-aids as you can, because there is no such thing as too many.
Take these items the next time you go camping to elevate your experience.
